(PatriotPostNews.com) – Israel is facing isolation as countries like Turkey cut ties or break trade agreements due to the Israel-Gaza war. European allies like the UK and Germany continue to support Israel, but both nations have become more critical of Israel’s actions as the war rages on. University students across the United States have incited protests and erected Pro-Palestine encampments on their college campuses.
Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Belize, and Honduras have all made moves to cut ties with Israel, including bringing their ambassadors to Israel back to their home countries. Neighbors of Israel have also begun to cut ties, including Jordan and Bahrain, which have both recalled their ambassadors.
Until now, President Joe Biden had shown no sign of pulling back relations with Israel. The Biden administration has ordered a shipment of ammunition earmarked for Israel be put on hold. The Biden administration has not responded to comments and has not issued a statement to explain the move. It would also appear that the Biden Administration did not provide any warning to Israel before halting the shipment.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel would continue to fight to defend itself, even if it means fighting alone. In a separate statement, Netanyahu doubled down and compared losing allies to events during the Holocaust. The prime minister described how during the Holocaust many nations “idly” stood by and that his nation will stand alone in the war to defend itself if it has to.
The Biden administration has strongly urged against any escalation from Israel. Israel officials have announced plans to evacuate civilians in southern Gaza. The announcement comes as Israel suggests it plans to move into the southern Gaza city of Rafah to eliminate Hamas fighters hiding out in the region. If Israeli forces move in on Rafah, the Biden administration has asserted that the US will be forced to oppose the move and that it could damage Israel-US relations.
