Boston Man Sentenced To Eight Years In Murder-For-Hire Conspiracy Against His Ex-Wife

(PatriotPostNews.com) – Mohammed Chowdhury faces eight years in prison and three years of probation for attempting to hire a hitman to kill his ex-wife. Chowdhury rationalized the murder attempt, asserting that his ex-wife had become too Americanized and was thinking more independently than he believed a woman should be. Chowdhury claims he only wanted his ex-wife beaten, not murdered.

Across America Muslim communities have been facing challenges grappling with domestic violence.

Chowdhury attempted to enlist a man he believed to be a professional contract killer. The man turned out to be an undercover federal agent. Chowdhury agreed to pay $4,000 for each killing discussed. Chowdhury instructed the faux-hitman to make the killings look like a robbery gone wrong. Chowdhury was arrested in January 2023 while attempting to pay the undercover agent.

Chowdhury’s legal team insists that their client only wanted to hire someone to assault his ex-partner and her boyfriend. Chowdhury suggested that his Muslim faith does not allow for murder. In multiple meetings with undercover federal agents, Chowdhury insisted that he wanted his ex-wife to be beaten and her boyfriend emasculated, not murdered.

As record numbers of immigrants surge into the United States, many Americans are concerned about the cultural norms immigrants bring, especially concerning the treatment of women.

Chowdhury’s legal team suggested that the undercover agents overstepped and may have entrapped Chowdhury. In one meeting, when Chowdhury pushed for assault instead of murder, one of the undercover agents lost composure and vehemently insisted Chowdhury agree to the planned murder. “We’re not going to debate.”

Chowdhury even turned down the initial offer to have his wife attacked or killed because it was too expensive. In response, the undercover agents lowered the price by more than half, dropping the payment from $10,000 each to $4,000. The federal agents pushed back on suggestions of federal misconduct and asserted that Chowdhury could have “walked away” but chose not to.
