(PatriotPostNews.com) – Amid Colorado’s resource crisis due to a massive immigration issue, Governor Jared Polis’s “Feliz Navidad” Christmas greeting has drawn understandable criticism.
Polis posted a cringe-worthy singing rendition of José Feliciano’s 1970 hit single. The governor posted it to his “official Spanish channel” on X.
The tone-deaf governor (literally and figuratively) was seen dancing happily. Politicians in Colorado have faced accusations of “pandering” to the state’s expanding Latino population.
The city’s resources are running low due to the influx of refugees into Denver. As shelters scramble to make room, the city is doing its best to help the migrants find jobs so they can avoid living on the streets, especially since many of them came with children. An increasing number of migrants are putting a burden on Colorado’s shelters and roads, and locals are starting to feel the effects.
Denver lies approximately seven hundred miles north of El Paso on Interstate 25. Since 2021, the city on the border has been inundated by migrants. In reaction to migrants who board freight trains in Mexico and disembark just before entering the United States, the United States Customs and Border Patrol temporarily halted cross-border rail travel in the Texas communities of Eagle Pass and El Paso on December 19. The food supply disruption has a nationwide impact, and it’s been exacerbated by lawmakers who have the welcome mat out for people who enter illegally.
Following this year’s 21,000 migrant arrivals, the local government in Colorado requested that border town authorities disseminate flyers warning asylum seekers to avoid the state capital in October. Denver “can no longer offer the same level of sheltering services to newly arriving folks,” according to Matthew Mueller, executive director of the Office of Emergency Management, who requested that authorities in Brownsville, El Paso, Houston, and Dallas inform migrants of this.
Meanwhile, the Governor sings in Spanish. The optics are ill-timed.
