(PatriotPostNews.com) – Following a high schooler’s successful resistance of school administrative demands to stop flying the American flag on his vehicle, an advertising company has given the student a free patriotic upgrade for his truck.
Cameron Blasek made headlines last week for his refusal to remove the nation’s flag from his truck while on school property. The issue stemmed from alleged concern that allowance to fly one flag would lead to backlash for not permitting other flags to be flown at East Central High School in St. Leon, Indiana.
After the viral incident, GCI Digital Imaging in Cincinnati, Ohio, provided a custom wrap on his truck, showcasing the boy’s patriotism with red, white, and blue stars and stripes. Blasek expressed that he is “pretty happy” about being able to come to school in his decorated vehicle, giving him an ongoing opportunity to “show off [his] American pride.”
TJ Bedacht, the company’s owner, explained that his team gave Blasek the free upgrade “because we are proud Americans.” He added that they backed the student’s actions, saying he “did exactly what needs to be done,” which is “stand up for” the rights endowed on all citizens.
Less than two weeks earlier, Blasek had riled up school leadership for arriving at school with the American flag flying proudly from his truck. He was asked by a school counselor and the vice principal to take it down, which he flatly refused to do. They then warned him that he could be reprimanded for insubordination.
However, almost 30 fellow students came to Blasek’s defense, arriving the following day with American flags flying from their own vehicles. The student was asked again to remove the flag, which he said he was not obligated to do, per state and school regulations.
The school principal then sent a letter to parents, saying that he supports patriotic pride, and that the institution would no longer insist the flag be removed from student vehicles, following “careful consideration.”
