(PatriotPostNews.com) – On Monday the 6th, anti-Israel protests were cleared from MIT’s campus in Cambridge. They were given the choice to face suspension or leave the area.
No arrests were made and by the following Tuesday, the anti-Israel encampment was back in full force. Pro-Palestine agitators created new chaos and removed barriers set up by police. Following the tear-down, the rioters erected their own barricades. In addition to calling for a ceasefire, the extremist protesters have demanded that MIT cut all ties to Israel and Israeli companies. The protestors did not name which companies they wanted MIT to divest from.
Anti-Israel protest encampments have spread like wildfire not just across elite American universities, but also universities across the globe. Chaotic protests have erupted at Dutch, British, and French universities. On Tuesday, May 7th, over 120 Pro-Palestine rioters were arrested at the University of Amsterdam. The Dutch protests started calmly but quickly became violent and forced Dutch law enforcement to take action.
In late April, the Paris Institute of Political Studies was taken over by Pro-Palestine agitators. Hostile protestors blocked entrances to the institute and forced administrators to move all classes online. Conflict between opposing sides broke out, and French riot police moved in to separate the groups. Over in the UK, around 50 Pro-Palestine student protestors have gathered at Newcastle University. The UK students have not become violent.
The protests are not limited to college students. Students from Summerville High School in Cambridge staged a walkout to protest Israel. The high school students marched from Boston Common to MIT Cambridge to show support for the college agitators.
MIT administrators have called for the chaotic encampment to disband, saying it is in violation of the university’s protest procedure. “MIT allows organized protests, but the anti-Israel encampment arose without university approval.
Tensions continue to rise globally. American protestors show no signs of relenting, and Europe is not far behind.
