(PatriotPostNews.com) – As the highly anticipated 2024 presidential election nears, the Democratic party is continuing to thwart former president and current candidate Donald Trump from voting while endorsing the possibility of criminals casting a vote.
The controversial Republican politician has yet to be convicted of any crime while his opponents have put forth their best efforts to stop him from being involved in the upcoming election by launching FBI investigations and several prosecutions that have yet to result in any legal discipline.
As noted by The Federalist, the prominent argument circulating against the former president is the claim that he incited an insurrection at the capital on January 6, 2021, which the conservative outlet’s executive editor Joy Pullmann described as “a political projection” with the goal of “promot[ing] a one-party state.” However, this argument was endorsed in a court decision that removed Trump from the election ballot in Colorado.
While campaigning to censor the former president and his involvement in the November 2024 election, Democrats have also endorsed a bill which would permit people who are currently serving prison sentences to cast a vote during federal elections. Two of the bill’s cosponsors are representatives Dan Goldman and Jerry Nadler, both of whom have played a significant role in seeking to undermine Trump’s right to a fair trial.
Meanwhile, on the state level, Democrat lawmakers in Washington, Maryland, Virginia and New York have made similar moves to legally allow criminals who have already been convicted to vote in elections in contradiction to citizen rights.
In 2020, every one of the 26 Democrat presidential candidates showed public support for giving former criminals the right to vote. Five of them furthered their support for allowing current felons to vote as well. However, despite Trump’s lack of conviction for the many accusations hurled his way, Democrats remain firm in their resolution to keep him from casting a vote in the November 2024 presidential election.
