Dr. Phil Pushes Back Against Cancel Culture

(PatriotPostNews.com) – Phil McGraw, the daytime television talk show host known professionally as Dr. Phil, is set to launch his new television network designed to encapsulate Middle America.

The 73-year-old, who left the talk show bearing his own name in May 2023, is due to launch Merit Street Media on April 2, 2024. Based in Texas, the broadcaster strives to be representative of Middle America both metaphorically and literally.

The network will feature Dr. Phil in a primetime slot after 21 years of daytime television appearances. McGraw will not be alone on the network, with Steve Harvey, Nancy Grace and Chris Harrison also set to join him.

McGraw told Entertainment Tonight that Merit Street wasn’t simply “chosen at random” and that he believes the United States was built on a meritocratic system whereby hard work is rewarded.

McGraw added that his show was a “whole approach” to the state of America due to his concerns with the current political and social debate within the U.S. He added his belief that “the American family” is facing fundamental threats and challenges, whilst expressing his hope that primetime television would provide him with a larger audience than his daytime experience.

The launch comes just weeks after the release of McGraw’s book “We’ve Got Issues: How You Can Stand Strong for America’s Soul and Sanity”. In it, he focuses on the biggest threats to the United States, including cancel culture and how it impacts constructive debate for Americans across the country.

McGraw insisted that the book title he chose was relevant because the United States does, in fact, have issues. He said that some people have pushed so hard for progressive values that Americans are stopping, pausing, and saying, “Now wait a minute.”

McGraw might just be the only man on regular television pushing for common sense in programming and popular culture.
