Former Clinton Advisor Claims Biden is Risking War

(PatriotPostNews.com) – A political consultant who worked as an advisor to former president Bill Clinton has warned that current President Joe Biden is risking war by his response to the armed conflict in the Middle East.

Douglas Schoen, a Democratic political advisor and consultant, issued the warning in observation of the Biden administration’s response to the war between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. The conflict ensued after the terrorists massacred more than a thousand Israelis on October 7 and kidnapped hundreds more, sparking Israel to strike back in the Gaza Strip. The following attacks have killed thousands more and forced many Palestinians to flee their homes.

Schoen shared his criticism of Biden’s response to the conflict in a January 22 opinion piece published by The Hill and co-written with political strategist Saul Mangel. In the article, the commentators suggested that the American government may be “sleepwalking” right into a third “full-blown world war.”

While commending the president for his consistent and strong support of Israel in the aftermath of the massacre, Schoen and Mangel argued that such efforts were not enough, citing the growing amount of violence in the area. They also stated that the government’s “failure to deter Iran” could lead to “direct” involvement of the United States in what could expand the war.

Iran-backed Houthi militants have been attacking commercial ships in the Red Sea, specifically targeting all those headed towards Israel. The United States has responded to the threats on international trade by launching airstrikes—in a recent case, joined by the United Kingdom—against the Houthis in Yemen. This tension has raised concerns that America will be involved in armed conflict.

In recent weeks, United States bases and ships in Iraq have been struck by missiles launched by militias that are supported by Iran. A January 20 incident left two American soldiers injured. Previously, Houthi militants have threatened to respond with “all force” to the strikes launched by the United States. Throughout the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, President Biden has repeatedly expressed support for Israel as well as providing resources for Gaza inhabitants impacted by Israeli attacks.
