(PatriotPostNews.com) – A Colorado representative has garnered mixed reviews on her latest re-election campaign ad.
Rep. Lauren Boebert, who is pushing her bid in a tight competition for a seat in the 4th Congressional District of Colorado, recently released a campaign ad featuring her youngest son. The video was first shown during the NCAA men’s basketball championship on April 8 and is seen as an effort from Boebert to reclaim herself as a family candidate.
Roman, the congresswoman’s youngest son who is said to be 12 years old, appears at the start of the 30-second clip to ask his mother to play basketball with him. Boebert responds by saying she is attempting to find words for her next campaign ad. The boy tells her it is “easy” to determine and goes on to point out the accomplishments of his legislator mother.
Roman suggests she tell voters about gun safety and “fight[ing] for freedom,” as well as highlighting the things she has already done in office, like boosting energy production in the United States and limiting government spending. The boy then described these accomplishments as “pretty good.”
He also points to his mother’s successful efforts in “pass[ing] bills” that secure the southern border and “create Colorado jobs.” At the end of the video, Boebert commends her son’s contributions to her brainstorming session and asks, “what’s next?” Roman then holds up his basketball, and the ad ends with the mother and son shooting hoops together.
The video was met with mixed reactions on social media, where some viewers described the family-themed clip as “wholesome,” commending Boebert for being “such a good mom.” Others, however, pointed to the congresswoman’s track record of questionable actions and family trouble. In the past, Boebert has received backlash for being disruptive in a Denver theater with an alleged romantic partner, gained attention for her 2023 divorce with her husband, and attracted the media again when her 19-year-old son faced charges for theft and trespassing.
The congresswoman is seeking the seat of former Representative Ken Buck, who retired earlier this year. The primary election is scheduled for June 25.
