(PatriotPostNews.com) – John Wayne Gacy’s defense attorney, Karen Conti, has come out with a new theory that Gacy not only killed more people than was originally concluded but also had two accomplices that Conti claims were swept under the rug during Gacy’s trial. Conti identified sections of time where Gacy’s whereabouts were unknown for weeks at a time.
Conti explained that Gacy would head into a more rural country for work, but also where it would be easier to stealthily kidnap his preferred targets of young men and boys. His time outside of town, outside suburbia, isn’t well documented, the lawyer said. “Conti speculated that dedicated private investigators or even just enthusiastic true crime podcasters could uncover new clues, confirming her theory regarding additional rural victims.
Conti also believes the two men with whom Gacy lived and shared intimate relations must have been aware that they were supporting the efforts of a prolific serial killer. Conti backed up her claim, citing that the crawl space under Gacy’s property, where the majority of the bodies were buried, was too small for Gacy to navigate. Conti pointed out that Gacy was overweight, and so the two men he lived with would have likely been solely responsible for digging the makeshift graves. Conti repeatedly used the phrase “impossible for me to believe” when describing the ideas that Gacy didn’t kill additional rural victims and that he didn’t have accomplices.
Conti defended her claim that two men were willful accomplices and said that the courts minimized the men’s participation in the grisly acts in order to streamline Gacy’s case. At the time, the prosecution was worried that adding more villains to the story would muddy the waters and make it harder for the jury and the public to follow.
Gacy often dressed as a clown to gain his victims’ trust. Gacy killed a recorded 33 people. Conti did not speculate on an exact number of additional victims.
