(PatriotPostNews.com) – Father and son, Brian Estep, 42, and Lane Estep, 18, are facing charges in the murder of Amber Estep, 39.
Amber, wife of Brian and mother of Lane, was last seen on January 16th. Her mother reported her missing on January 19th, and her body was discovered by a local on January 20th. Brian Estep claimed that he dropped Amber off on the side of I-95 after a heated argument during the drive in his truck. According to documents, during the exchange, Amber revealed that she had been having multiple affairs.
Sometime after Amber was allegedly dropped off on the highway, Lane Estep drove his father’s truck toward town but parked some distance away in an empty field. Friends of Lane commented that it was strange for Lane to be using his father’s truck. The vehicle was later discovered engulfed in flames. Lane claimed the fire was caused by a vehicle recall. The investigation determined that no such recall existed for the vehicle. The 18-year-old has been charged with accessory to murder after the fact, tampering with evidence in a capital felony, as well as arson in the first degree.
Brian Estep allegedly asserted that he had not seen his wife since he let her off on the highway after the heated argument. Brian insists that Amber demanded to be let out of the vehicle and claimed he was not worried about his wife because he felt that she just “needed some space.” About four days passed from when Amber was last seen to when her remains were discovered.
An autopsy reported multiple gunshot wounds to Amber’s face and neck as well as a broken arm and blunt force trauma to the victim’s head.
Both men have been extradited from West Virginia to Florida to face charges in the murder of Amber Estep. Lane Estep has been transferred to Brevard County Jail outside Orlando.
