(PatriotPostNews.com) – Amid the highly competitive and scrutinized presidential race, former president and leading GOP candidate Donald Trump recently accused fellow candidate Nikki Haley of being a “globalist.”
The Republican governor of South Carolina has attracted widespread criticism from the party for standing on the typically liberal side of America First issues, including Trump’s broad accusation of supporting globalism.
On Friday January 5, during remarks made in Iowa, Trump claimed that Haley has remained “in the pocket” of who he described as the “open borders establishment donors” throughout her career.
Comparing himself to his opponent, the former president said, “I like America first.” He also added that Haley’s presidential campaign is being financially supported by “Biden donors.” The comments took a personal turn when Trump pointed out that Haley “opposed” his plans to build a wall at the southern border in an effort to curtail massive illegal migration.
He also accused Haley of “stabb[ing] the Republican party in the back” and voiced determination to avoid letting RINOs (Republican in name only) “claw their way” into controlling political positions. He cited Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and Karl Rove as politicians who, like Haley, do not fully support the conservative values and issues of the Republican party.
Referencing how he would respond to globalist policies if Americans re-elect him into the White House, Trump vowed to “immediately restore and expand” what have become known as the Trump travel bans—one such executive action which sought to crack down on the immigration crisis and potential terrorist threats by proposing to bar Muslims from entering the United States.
Haley had voiced opposition to this suggestion although later backed certain travel bans Trump initiated while president.
Haley has previously expressed her endorsement of using taxpayer dollars from American citizens to defend the Ukrainian border, giving jobs to imported migrants instead of Americans and rejecting the use of the term “criminals” for illegal migrants, saying that “they’re not.”
