Yemini Leader Accuses US of Ignoring Houthi Threat

(PatriotPostNews.com) – As ongoing tensions continue to raise concerns about international trade threats resulting from the war in the Middle East, an official from Yemen has accused the United States of setting aside warning signs about the threats from the Houthis.

The vice president of the Yemini government, Maj. Gen. Aidarus al-Zubaidi, made the accusations during the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, Switzerland, which occurred on January 13 and 14. During the meeting, al-Zubaidi claimed to have previously warned officials in both the United States and Great Britain about trade threats during the September 2023 United Nations General Assembly.

The Yemini leader said at the WEF meeting that those two governments “wrote everything down” and “didn’t do anything.” al-Zubaidi specifically warned British and American officials that the Islamic military group in Yemen was reportedly vamping up their efforts and arms resources as early as September, preparing them for conflict.

In recent months, the American military has been wrestling to deal with many attacks against global trade ships in the Red Sea, launched by the Houthi rebels. The extremist group has initiated attacks at all vessels heading towards Israel—including those operated by the United Kingdom, United States and Israel—vowing to continue the disruption until Israel ceases its attacks on Gaza.

The attacks began after the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas launched a surprise attack on several Israeli towns on October 7, killing more than a thousand innocents and kidnapping hundreds more. Counter attacks launched into the Gaza Strip by the Israeli military have cost the lives of thousands more, sparking aggravations from Palestinian allies.

Despite accusations from Yemen that the American military knew about the threat before taking action, the United States and other allies are currently responding to the crisis in the Red Sea by taking out arms launched at vessels. Dozens of missiles and drones launched by the Houthis have already been shot down.
