GoFundMe Page For Victims Of Trump Rally Shooting Gets Over $4 Million

(PatriotPostNews.com) — With more than 60,000 donations, the GoFundMe for the victims and their families of the July 13th assassination attempt has raised over $5 million. On July 14th, the GoFundMe had already raised over $2 million. The goal for the campaign was $1 million. Trump stated that he fully supports the effort. Notable figures have donated massive sums to the campaign, including Ben Shapiro and Elon Musk.

The shooting that nearly killed former President Donald Trump occurred during a Trump campaign rally less than an hour outside Pittsburgh in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump was evacuated by the Secret Service and only sustained a minor injury to his ear. Two attendees were injured, and one lost his life.

Trump’s team posted the link to the GoFundMe the day after the incident. Trump’s campaign finance director, Meredith O’Rourke, established the GoFundMe campaign.

The victim who lost his life was identified as former Fire Chief, Corey Comperatore. Reports say that Comperatore was hit by gunfire because he used his own body to shield his family from the attack. His family survived unharmed.

An Emergency Room doctor who happened to be in attendance attempted to save Comperatore’s life. In an interview conducted immediately after the shooting, the doctor still had his red “Make America Great Again” hat on, but his shirt was stained with what was presumably blood. He explained that Comperatore was beyond CPR and that brain matter was visible.

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner donated $10,000. Ben Shapiro donated $15,000. Vivek Ramaswamy donated $30,000. Dana White, the UFC. Kid Rock, Senator Rick Scott, and the Heritage Foundation as well as a number of anonymous donors, each donated $50,000. The night of the Republican National Convention Elon Musk donated an additional $100,000.

The description on the GoFundMe affirms that all donations will go to the victims who were wounded or killed and their families. Donations have continued to pour in.
