(PatriotPostNews.com) — 2024 Republican Presidential Candidate, Former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Governor, Nikki Haley, said that she is releasing her 97 delegates. Haley also added that she has not been invited to the 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC), but a spokesperson for Haley asserted Haley is “fine” with not being invited.
Haley earned 97 delegates before dropping out of the republican primaries. Governor Ron DeSantis earned nine, Vivek Ramaswamy earned three and former President Donald Trump earned over 2,200 delegates. Only 1,215 delegates are needed to gain the Republican nomination. Who delegates support is based on local and state authority. After being released, the delegates may still be required to support Haley, or may be free to back a different candidate. Nikki has encouraged her 97 to support former President Trump.
In a statement, Haley called for unity across the Republican Party and asserted that Trump is free to manage the upcoming convention as he sees fit. Haley added that President Joe Biden is “not competent to serve” and added that Vice President Kamala Harris “would be a disaster.” In the statement, Haley asserted that the United States needs a powerful leader who will “secure our border” and restore the American economy. In the statement, Haley affirmed her support for Trump and said that she encourages her delegates to back the former president.
On July 9th, Haley’s team shared a video on X (Twitter) where Haley repeatedly doubled down on the theory that Biden is going to exit and be replaced by Kamala Harris.
In response to rumors about her 2024 RNC invitation, a representative from Haley’s team confirmed that Haley was not invited, but said that Haley is “fine with that.” He added that Haley will vote for Trump, and wishes him well. Trump and Haley had a number of high profile disagreements throughout the primary, but Haley asserts that a Trump victory is necessary for “party unity.”
