(PatriotPostNews.com) — On Saturday, July 13th, 2024, not even 10 days after July 4th, former President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated on live TV in front of a massive crowd. The shooter fired off a number of shots before being neutralized. One attendee was killed, and another remains in critical condition. Donald Trump survived with a minor injury. Many have asserted that Trump was saved by an act of God. Witnesses and former intelligence officials alike have eviscerated the Secret Service’s “unacceptable” response.
The most glaring Secret Service failure was allowing the 20-year-old shooter to scale a nearby roof with a clear line of sight to the former President and Republican Nominee, Donald Trump. One eye-witness, Greg Smith, said that he and his friends saw the shooter, with what was unquestionably a rifle, climb onto a nearby roof, where the shooter was later killed. Smith and others flagged down law enforcement and informed them that “there’s a guy on the roof with a rifle,” but Smith says law enforcement did not appear to understand the situation. Smith said he tried to alert law enforcement for almost five minutes.
Kevin Rojek, FBI special-agent-in-charge of the investigation, described the shooter’s ability to fire so many shots without intervention as “surprising.” Photos from the event show that Trump’s chest and head were repeatedly exposed to potential additional fire. Rojek said that the investigation will focus on the shooter, not on how the Secret Service responded to the shooting.
Former Navy Seal Erik Prince described the Secret Service’s handling of the situation as “clumsy.”
Trump survived because, moments before the shooting, he turned his head to emphasize a point to the crowd. At that moment, a number of shots could be heard and Trump could be seen touching his right ear as blood became visible on his face. Reports confirmed that Trump is doing well and only sustained a minor wound to his ear.
