Rafah Strike Does Not Cross Biden’s Red Line, Says White House

(PatriotPostNews.com) – Amid the ongoing war in the Middle East and intense controversy concerning Israel’s military actions in Gaza, the Biden administration has said that the recent attacks on the city of Rafah have not yet crossed the “red line.”

Military vehicles were spotted coming into the central part of the Palestinian city—which has become a refuge for civilians during the war—on Tuesday, May 28. International criticism of Israel’s military response has been triggered once again following the recent loss of more Palestinian lives.

Since the Jewish nation started its persistent airstrikes into the Gaza Strip, sparked by the Hamas-led massacre that killed more than a thousand people in Israeli towns, more than 30,000 people have died. World leaders and citizens across the globe have expressed both solidarity with Israel, defending its actions as justifiable defense, and condemnation of the country for negligently causing severe casualties.

Although the Biden administration has repeatedly warned Israel not to launch a full-scale attack on the city of Rafah, John Kirby of the National Security Council has shared that the government has not been watching the attacks in the region with a “blind eye.” He explained that the White House did not characterize Israel’s Rafah offensives as a “major ground operation,” which could result in a pause on the United States providing weapons to its Jewish ally.

Kirby added that a violation of President Joe Biden’s “red line” regarding Israel’s offensive would be “thousands” of personnel drawing into “a variety of targets” in a “concentrated, coordinated way.”

Other sources have noted that the American government views the recent strike that killed civilians as a “horrific incident” that seemed to be the result of a “horribly wrong” strike but did not equate to the Jewish nation “smashing into Rafah.”

The White House response comes days after dozens of civilians sheltering in a displacement camp in Gaza were killed. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the deaths stemmed from a “tragic mishap” while his military attacked a Hamas compound, taking out two senior officials with the terror group.
