Beijing Claims That MI6 Recruited Chinese Government Officials As Spies

(PatriotPostNews.com) – The Chinese Communist Party has accused Britain’s spy service, MI6, of turning two CCP government employees into spies for the UK. The CCP described the incident as an act of “major espionage.” An unnamed Chinese married couple, dubbed as Wang Moumou and Zhou Mou, were allegedly converted into spies for British intelligence. The Chinese Ministry of State Security is claiming that both government workers had access to “core confidential” information as well as covert government departments.

The married couple was approached by MI6 in 2015 at an unnamed UK university.

The United States is facing its own problem with spies. Cuban spies have become a threat to US national security. In April 2024, a seasoned US ambassador was found to be selling secrets to Cuba. Ambassador Victor Manuel Rocha pleaded guilty to spying for Cuba’s intelligence agency. Rocha served the United States for 40 years before being discovered. Former Pentagon official Ana Montes, spied for Cuba for nearly 20 years before being discovered.

Rocha was in attendance at an Argentina state dinner in 1999. Also in attendance were President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hilary Clinton.

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Rocha’s arrest in December 2023. Rocha was found to have been spying for Cuba throughout his career as a United States official. Rocha’s 40-year infiltration marks one of the longest-known instances of espionage in US history.

Rocha’s treason was uncovered after the FBI tricked Rocha into a confession. FBI agents posed as Cuban officials and set up a meeting with Rocha. The meeting was recorded by hidden cameras, and Rocha’s 40 year career as a spy was confirmed.

The Pentagon has not released specifics, but one official, Brian Latell, stated that the damage caused by Rocha was “enormous.” Latell explained that Cuba does not possess the technological capabilities of the Western world and instead relies on old fashioned spycraft. Latell emphasized that even with their vintage approach to spycraft, Cuban spies are “very, very good” at their craft.
