(PatriotPostNews.com) – Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough, filed a lawsuit to prevent Graceland from being foreclosed and auctioned. Riley Keough became the sole heir of Elvis Presley’s Promenade Trust after a legal dispute with her grandmother, Priscilla Presley.
An entity called “Naussany Investments & Private Lending LLC” claimed that Lisa Marie Presley borrowed $3.8 million using Graceland as collateral. Keough’s lawyers argue the notarized promissory note is fake and that the investment company is fraudulent. The note was allegedly notarized in Florida, but the notary could not be contacted, and the notary public denied involvement.
A Tennessee court halted the auction. A hearing is scheduled to investigate the case further. After the lawsuit was filed, Naussany Investments withdrew its claims. Emails from Naussany Investments listed a toll free number, however, the entity could not be contacted and the phone number was disconnected. An individual from Nigeria claimed responsibility for illegally arranging the fraudulent loans. The identity thief admitted to targeting the Presley family.
The Nigerian scammer is allegedly the leader of a deep web group that specializes in targeting deceased American citizens to steal their identities in order to take out loans or, in some other way, garner funds. The group is known to have singled out Florida and California. The scammer group advertised the foreclosure sale in local outlets.
Naussany filed the documents eight months after Lisa Marie Presley’s death. Lisa Marie Presley died on January 12, 2023.
The group utilized information stolen from the Presley estate, combined with a number of counterfeit documents and false claims. The group may have used stolen birth certificates to gain access to privileged information. The Nigerian identity thief eventually confessed that it was a scam and retracted all claims on the Presley Estate.
In an email statement, the thief said he enjoys “creating trouble,” and said that he had “fun” figuring out the best means to target the Presley estate. The case remains under investigation.
